Power Supply Testing Process

Power Supply output is tested with an oscilloscope to ensure that it can maintain the proper output voltage under no traffic load and full traffic load conditions.

As an example, here are oscilloscope output images from a Cisco 3750 48 Port PoE Switch power supply that shows the DC No Load and DC Full Load voltage and the output waveform of the corresponding AC (ripple) voltages.

Zeriva technicians test each looking for deviations from these voltages and waveforms since deviations indicate internal power problems that may result in future failures.
